SPC 1B is a 270,000 SF, 100K/ISO 8, state-of-the-art multi-user facility for processing medium-to-large class spacecraft and encapsulating in fairings up to 8 meters in diameter. The facility features a wide “main-entrance” vestibule, a transfer aisle to support incoming hardware and transfer operations, and overhead cranes in all bays with 100′ hook height. Security features include a perimeter site security fence with 24/7 active security systems. SPC 1B will be located on KSC near Contractor Road, just south of NASA’s Vehicle Assembly Building at Launch Complex 39. NASA authorization is required to access the facility. Each processing area has independent access control.
